This book comes with my warning: you might want to download it and let it sit there for a while. This book requires a significant bit of grace to read.

Without it, it’s overwhelming. This is 720 pages of the saints of God spilling their blood on behalf of their savior.

I’ll warn you: the free version (this one) is not exceptionally scanned. There are other versions starting at 99¢ here: http://amzn.to/1jrLI3O. We’ll assume their format is prettier, but the content is here.

Some of the (many) 5-star reviews:

This book is a must read. Very encouraging shows what God enabled his people to go through. A good reminder to live each day as a witness so that others might see your good works... not live as a closet Christian.”

I re-read this occasionally to remind myself of what others have sacrificed for their faith. Although it is sometimes difficult emotionally to read the accounts, it is a spiritual motivator for me. Everyone should read it.

Book is full of short stories about Christians, who went through horrible persecutions yet still stayed faithful up to death. Good examples for us.
