Reimagining Church: Pursuing the Dream of Organic Christianity

FREE BOOK: Reimagining Church

http://amzn.to/OhxY0U [Kindle: free!]

Author Frank Viola gives readers language for all they knew was missing in their modern church experience. He believes that many of today's congregations have shifted from God's original intent for the church.

As a prominent leader of the house church movement, Frank is at the forefront of a revolution sweeping through the body of Christ. A change that is challenging the spiritual status quo and redefining the very nature of church. A movement inspired by the divine design for authenticity community. A fresh concept rooted in ancient history and in God Himself.

Join Frank as he shares God's original intent for the church, where the body of Christ is an organic, living, breathing organism. A church that is free of convention, formed by spiritual intimacy, and unbound by four walls.

In Acts 2, Luke described a church where everyone shared their possessions, had everything in common and was devoted to practices like fellowship and prayer. If you've looked around the modern Church and wondered where that kind of gathering is hiding, we suggest you read "Reimagining Church," which will help form your convictions into revolutionizing thoughts. Frank Viola, a leader in the home-church movement for 20 years, lays out the complicated issue of "redoing church" in a tangible and practical way, never skimming over the hard issues like unity, authority, and spiritual status quo. Spilling over with relevant scriptures and illustrations, Viola's convictions are sure to challenge and excite you. -- Relevant Magazine

Chasing God

ONE BUCK BOOK: Chasing God

Maybe you’ve never asked the question out loud, but you’ve wondered. You do the things that look good on paper: read your Bible, pray, attend study groups and go to church on Sundays.

But you aren’t convinced you really know Him.

Angie Smith understands, because she had run circles around the same paths searching for Him, frustrated at her lack of progress. And she probably would have continued to do so had it not been for one realization that changed everything.

She wasn’t following God; she was trying to catch up with Him.

And without realizing it, you may be as well.

It’s a distinction that affects every aspect of our lives with Christ, and it begins with learning where we’ve relied more on man’s explanation of God than God Himself.

So many requirements, so many rules, and so much guilt where there is supposed to be freedom. It’s the reason you wonder if you’ve measured up, and the nagging voice that tells you you’re a failure as a Christian.

Three simple words changed everything for Angie, and she believes they can do the same for you.

Stop chasing God.

Angie Smith is the wife of Todd Smith (lead singer of Dove Award winning group Selah), best-selling author of Mended, I Will Carry You, and What Women Fear, and one of the most popular speakers and blog writers in the country. She holds a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Vanderbilt University.

Prophetic Fishing: Evangelism in the Power of the Spirit

ONE BUCK BOOK: Prophetic Fishing
Jean Krisle Blasi (Author), Dutch Sheets (Foreword)

Prophetic fishing, according to Jean Blasi, is fishing for men and women by the presence and power of God--evangelism made easy. It comes as a result of supernatural living. We do the "natural" part and let the Spirit of God within us handle the "super" side of things.

We don't have to work for God to bring others into his kingdom. Instead, Blasi advises readers simply to breathe in his presence, get out of the way, and let him work through them. It's figuring out what God is already doing and then joining him in it.

This is no canned approach to evangelism. It is taking the prophetic gift and applying it to fulfilling the Great Commission in a most natural and powerful way--listening as God shows you who to talk to, then starting the conversation. Blasi helps readers learn to hear God's voice and then to move out in power, letting love be our motivation.

Sinner's Creed: a Memoir and a Testimony

FREE BOOK: Sinner's Creed
By Scott Stapp

Sinner’s Creed is the uncensored memoir of Scott Stapp, Grammy Award–winning leader of the multiplatinum rock band CREED.

During CREED’s decade of dominance and in the years following the band’s breakup, Scott struggled with drugs and alcohol, which led not only to a divorce, but also to a much-publicized suicide attempt in 2006.

Now clean, sober, and in the midst of a highly successful solo career, Scott has finally come full circle—a turnaround he credits to his renewed faith in God.

In Sinner's Creed, Scott shares his story for the first time—from his fundamentalist upbringing, the rise and fall of CREED, and his ongoing battle with addiction, the rediscovery of his faith, and the launch of his solo career.

The result is a gripping memoir that is proof positive that God is always present in our lives, despite the colossal mess we sometimes make of them.

Prodigals and Those Who Love Them: Words of Encouragement for Those Who Wait

TWO DOLLAR BOOK: Prodigals and Those Who Love Them

For anyone waiting for a prodigal's return. There is perhaps nothing that brings more angst to a parent's heart than waiting for a prodigal to return home. Beloved author Ruth Bell Graham knew about prodigals--two of her five children were spiritual wanderers. In this time-tested classic, she offers encouragement to those who anxiously wait.

This is not a "how to" book that dispenses advice on ways to win back a prodigal. Instead, it is a collection of readings one woman turned to for comfort when her children wandered from God. It shows how Graham's faith persevered and grew regardless of the outcome of her prodigals' stories.

In Part One, Graham introduces you to five prodigals who "returned to the father." In Part Two, she offers comfort and encouragement through Scripture, poems, hymns, prayers, and more.

You will be touched by the honest feelings of pain, frustration, and uncertainty Graham expresses so eloquently. And you will share in the lessons she learned about God's sovereignty and ultimate peace.

Prodigals and Those Who Love Them brings peace and hope to all parents of "wayward" children.

Paradoxy: Coming to Grips with the Contradictions of Jesus

Yield to conquer. Die to live. Be enslaved to be freed. Why did Jesus teach in apparent contradictions? If his message was so important, why did he communicate it so mysteriously? Tom Taylor unfolds some of the core mysteries of Jesus as he explores eight puzzling statements whose meanings ultimately reveal critical truths about life, faith, and relationships. In these pages you learn to see the world through Jesus' eyes. You learn how to embrace Paradoxy--a profound way of living that leads to both personal peace and peace with God.

Paradoxy analyzes these seemingly contradictory truths, revealing not only their poignancy but also fresh ways readers can apply them to life today. Drawing from his own experiences as well as Scripture, Taylor explores each paradox to reveal convicting realities about life, faith, and our relationships. Both intelligent seekers and experienced Christians will be challenged by this unique study on Jesus's teachings, ultimately finding peace and a deeper, more passionate life with Christ.

"Taylor brilliantly leads the reader through compelling story to the power of Jesus and his paradoxes that both promise and deliver on peace."--Nancy Murphy, associate professor, Mars Hill Graduate School

"Tom Taylor retrieves the message of Jesus with wit and wisdom."--Allen Verhey, professor of Christian ethics, Duke Divinity School

Indescribable By Louie Giglio and Matt Redman

FREE BOOK: Indescribable
By Louie Giglio and Matt Redman

Putting this powerful message into print for the first time, visionary pastor Louie Giglio and songwriter Matt Redman team up to write a heart-stirring book about the mysteries of God’s creation. Indescribable takes readers on a journey through the vastness of outer space and into the depths of the soul.

Modern science allows viewers to see farther into space than ever before, and every step draws them closer to the God who breathed each star into existence. In Indescribable, the authors intertwine devotional insights with remarkable scientific facts that awaken both mind and spirit. As Giglio and Redman write, God turns wonderers into worshipers.

Above all, Indescribable is a call to worship—an invitation to know and be known by the God of all creation and to become more passionate worshipers of Jesus Christ.

The heavens declare the glory of God—but in doing so they also point us to the kindness of God. The vastness of His creation points us to the heights of His glory—and at the same time stuns us with the depths of His mercy. The beautiful truth is this: He who calls out the stars, and names them one by one, knows each of us by name also. It is grace of astronomic proportions….
—Louie Giglio and Matt Redman, Indescribable

The eloquent weaving of scientific fact, devotional insight, and magnificent photographs in Indescribable will awaken your mind and spirit like never before. Come discover both the intimacy and the majesty of the God who created you. Come and worship.

Combining science, nature, God's Word, and their own heart and soul searches, the authors have put together a book to intrigue, encourage, and inspire you, if nothing else! Find science between the pages, nature in its wildest forms, and breath of God within these pages...I am enthralled by the photos, completely taken. I think this book shouts to the world His goodness and His power. I'm especially impressed by the parallels between the studies of science and how God loves us (and other metaphors). There is no measure by which to truly see how much God loves us- there is no way we know how big this universe is. Simply- indescribable!

Frank Peretti's Handbooks for Spiritual Warfare

First of all, let me clarify: these are novels. They are works of fiction. These are not instruction manuals. These were not actually written to teach us about spiritual warfare.

In the same way that Narnia is not actually written to teach us about Jesus. Sure does a good job, though!

Yeah, these are novels, but they’re better instruction for how darkness works against individuals and regions than most (not all) actual textbooks. And there are exceptional tools that can teach you – if you’re willing to learn – how to oppose the darkness and bring about the manifestation of Heaven’s light.

Besides that, they’re full of great characters you’ll learn to love, both human and angelic. (Here’s a secret: Guilo is my favorite!)

Note: these are neither free nor "nearly free." They’re merely exceptional. And timely.

But if you haven’t read them before, don’t start them unless you have several hours in front of you. Seriously.

(Besides, Frank Peretti is from the Northwest! Booya!)

General Description

Matthew Henry's six-volume 'Exposition of the Old and New Testament' or Complete Bible Commentary has long been celebrated as the best of English commentaries of the Bible for devotional purposes. It provides an exhaustive verse by verse study of the Bible, covering the whole of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

The Commentary was begun in November 1704. The first volume was published in 1708; that and four other volumes appeared in a uniform edition in 1710. Before his death Henry completed the Acts for an unpublished sixth volume. After his death the Epistles and Revelation were prepared by thirteen ministers, partly based upon notes taken by Henry's hearers. The complete edition was edited by George Burder and John Hughes and published in 1811 in 6 volumes. Henry's 'Exposition' has often been abridged. Now for the first time it is made available by OSNOVA in its full unabridged form to the Kindle users.

Henry's commentaries are primarily exegetical, dealing with the Scripture text as presented, with his prime intention being explanation for practical and devotional purposes. The Commentary excels at practical application, displaying good sense, discrimination, high moral tone and simple piety, combined with the well-sustained flow of its English style.

Famous evangelical Protestant preachers such as George Whitefield and Charles Spurgeon used and heartily commended the work, with Whitefield reading it through four times – the last time on his knees. Spurgeon stated, " Every minister ought to read it entirely and carefully through once at least."

Please read the instructions at the beginning of the publication to learn how to easily navigate this complex publication.

NOTE: Many features of this publication will not work on Kindle 1, software Kindles such as Kindles for PC, iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, Android or Kindle Fire. This edition is not TTS(text-to-speech)-friendly due to the way TTS works on the Kindle.

Seeing the Unseen: A Daily Dose of Eternal Perspective

Reach through the fog of this life…and see the world beyond.

From the author of the bestselling book Heaven, here are 60 meditations that will inspire you to live each day with an eternal perspective.

Spiritually speaking, we live in the Country of the Blind. Sin has blinded us to the truth about God and Heaven, both of which are real yet unseen. But just as the physically blind must accept by faith there are stars in the sky, we must remind ourselves what Scripture tells us about eternal realities.

In daily doses, author Randy Alcorn offers insights on the Christian life along with Scriptures and inspirational quotes that can transform the way you think and live today.

It’s time to open your eyes—and see the unseen.

Simple Ways to Reach Out to Muslims

Carl Medearis

Welcome to Ramadan. This is perhaps the best time in the year to reach out to the Muslims living near you. They need to know Jesus as much as you do, and will fall as deeply in love with him as you already have.

Info: https://bitly.com/CarlMedearis

Based on the author's twenty-five years of first-hand experience, this engaging book reveals what Islam really teaches and how today's Muslims live and think. With practical information and personal stories, Carl Medearis shows readers how they can build life-changing bridges between the world's two largest religions-one person at a time, whether in the U.S. or elsewhere.

Talk about an unorthodox way to preach the Good News. A good shock to my religiosity. I am sure the author gets a lot of criticism from Christians for being a-religious. I think as a Christian we easily get caught up in what everyone tells us to be that we forget that Jesus called us just like we were and that was acceptable to him. May we see more like Jesus did and be who He wants us to be. I would recommend this book to every Christian, to read and then examine himself and find the Truth.
